With the Full Moon in Virgo on March 8th, the focus is on integrating the lessons of the past and finding the natural order of our lives. Virgo’s symbol is “the Virgin,” the archetype of the Priestess and Healer who projects the energy of sovereignty, self-awareness, and deep wisdom.
Virgo seeks to know herself completely, to cut away the superfluous and keep only what’s necessary for the task at hand. Virgo’s ability to understand the body-mind connection also makes it vital to our overall health and well being.
At its best, Virgo accepts herself – flaws and all – and seeks to serve others with the skills she possesses. But Virgo also has a dark side which can get stirred up with the intensity of the Full Moon: a judgmental mind that borders on cruel and an addiction to self-improvement that leaves no time for meaningful work.
Virgo can be analytical to the point of inaction. It can also give of itself too much, leading to workaholic tendencies and eventual burn-out.
The energies that are achievable only at Full Moon (when they have been properly understood, received and transmitted in meditation) can be instrumental in helping humanity to move towards your spiritual goal, as the center of consciousness integrated and aligned in the body of the One in Whom we live and move and have our being. This is the essential purpose of the monthly meetings of the full moon.
When the Full Moon is in Virgo, we can see some of these themes more clearly in our lives. We may feel the urge to clean house or reduce clutter in our work space. Hurt feelings can rise up at the perceived criticism of others. Virgo can help us bring the energy of integration into our lives, getting projects, problems and relationships in order.
This Full Moon may feel like a searchlight exposing any blemish or shortcoming, but it can also light up the details and activities of our lives that need more awareness and appreciation.
When the Moon is full, it is in the opposite zodiac sign of where the Sun is. Since the Sun is now in Pisces, this is the Full Moon of Virgo.
This is the Full Worm Moon, so named because, according to The Farmer’s Almanac, “As the temperature begins to warm and the ground begins to thaw, earthworm casts appear, heralding the return of the robins.” In addition, some Native Americans know this as the Full Crow Moon and the Full Crust Moon, because the snow cover becomes crusted from thawing by day and freezing at night. With other names like the Lenten Moon, the Sap Moon, and the Seed Moon, this is the last Full Moon of Winter; the Equinox draws near.
Assuming that you are able to read this, due to the unknown effects of the giant solar flare that will be hitting our Planet Earth today. So whether you perceive any of this within a spiritual framework or not...there is no denying that changing energies are "in the air." We are hoping to see if there are northern lights up here.
Thank you Coralie.
There is so much that goes on with our relationship with the moon that recently I have become aware of.
Many centuries ago primative tribes noticed that the earth and many things on it acted differently when the moon was full.
Today after doing centuries of research and many experiments, science is starting to understand how powerful the full moons affects are on everything.
It appears that our ancient ancestors where right on the money when they performed certain seemingly magical incantations and ceremonys at the time of the full moon.
We now understand that there seems to be some kind of frequency and magnetic change that occurs which makes many of the ceremonys and incantations develope enormous strength and it all seems to be coming from the affects that the moon has on our earth during the full moon cycles.
If we think about something during the full moon affect, many times depending on our concentration on what it is that we want to occur, has a much better chance of coming into fruition then when we think about the same thing during a half or quarter moon.
SO thank you for reminding me of how important it is to pay respect to a time of the month when many things seem to have the ability to happen as is magic is sprinkled of it.
Give it a try and see what happens.
WHen you wish upon a star is much more powerful then we may think.
Peace and happiness to you and everything that you think.

A strong reminder of just how powerful our thoughts and intentions are and how they are connected to the sea of energy that we are surrounded by and connected to. It sounds as though this is an excellent time to concentrate on what we are grateful for. Because what we are grateful for is always multiplied.
Happy Full Moon to you and everyone!
Love, Light and Harmony

Yes, without the Moon to draw the four tides around the planet, only the Sun would exert gravitational influence. There is a theory that this would create a thick atmospheric tide on the Sun side, within which the Earth would rotate.
In this case, the Sun would evaporate moisture into a huge cloud that would always be between the Earth and the Sun's light. That means that the Earth wouldn't see much sunlight, although the Sun would still be warming it. Not all of the Sun's rays are blocked by clouds.
This massive cloud would contain much of the water from the surface, leaving shallow seas probably covering the whole landmass more or less evenly. Remember, without the lunar tides, we may not have the tectonic activity that creates mountains and deep underwater crevasses, so the ocean might be only a kilometer deep all over the planet.
The overall effect would be days that are always clouded, freezing cold nights, and strong winds. There would be little air, because plant life couldn't exist without access to sunlight. And without the plants, animals would not exist.
Another factor is that without its atmosphere, our planet wouldn't be protected from the full effect of the Sun's heat in the daytime, nor the extreme cold of space at night.
And we can only wonder what affect the absence of Grandmother Moon might have on the 5th tide, the tide of biology and reproduction. It makes you wonder whether any planet, Earth or other, without a moon could give rise to life at all.
In many ancient cultures, the Moon was the symbol of life itself. All over the world, The Moon was honoured as the source of fertility and growth.
This belief has a lot more basis in fact than ancient people were given credit for!
Grandmother Moon may indeed be responsible for bringing life to our planet, and then to us, one generation removed from Her.

After so many years of embracing a wide variety of spiritual teachings I have come to respect the moon cycles in the same way I have the Feminine Divine and see how they are intertwined within a number of esoteric pathways to development.
Yes, it is easy to take the cycles for granted but once they are incorporated into spiritual awareness you never look at the moon the same way again.

I love the moon. Incidentally as a Cancerian, the moon is my planet.
I stand at the window at night and look at the moon for hours.
The full moon is an excellent time to release anything that no longer serves you, whether it is a feeling, a belief, a person or situation. You can call upon this energy to help you release the old and prepare to draw in those things that can serve and enrich your life to its fullest. The saying “out with the old” is a good description of the full moon energy.
Thanks for posting this subject Coralie.
