Comment by Henriette MatthijssenOV Guardian on February 3, 2013 at 1:07pm I grow an organic garden every spring & I am looking forward to this coming spring again. I was unable to harvest all my carrots last fall & just wondering if they will start growing in the spring! Or were they all winter killed as I am located in Northern Canada!
Comment by Illumination OV Admin on May 29, 2012 at 10:40am Good idea Vlada but don't they go all soggy when you water them? I'm referring to before they go in the ground.
Comment by Eugene OV member Admin on May 29, 2012 at 6:05am Vlada so you're planting them in old news LOL Hope it was good news. It is a great idea!! I will try it next time.
I don't know what your water facilities are but I plant my seedlings where the geysers overflow valve leaks and I let my bath water irrigate my garden.
At one point I was afraid there could be too much soap in the water but over time I realized and I was convinced by others that it is better than no water at all and another thing to consider is this:
Water is supposed to seep into the ground and fill the water tables. When you let it run down the drain system they collect it, clean it, flouridate it and SELL it back to you. So rather give it back to nature as much as you can and let her filter it properly. It is illegal to do that in our country but not enforcable so we do it as much as we can.
Comment by Tammy Routley OV Guardian ♥ on January 5, 2012 at 11:24am Greenhouses are a good investment anytime, Dave! You can add fans and heaters etc, of course they can be pricey, but even good ole 8 ml greenhouse poly will work if one is handy.. I'm not lol :)
Chem trails everywhere. Disrupting everything. Our anti- fluoride group is also asking into chemtrails and run into brick walls. There is more than one way to get around this crap, we just get creative and stubborn.
lol!
Comment by Dave Kessler on January 5, 2012 at 6:37am Could our lack of success have anything to do with chemtrails? Just saying.... I guess a greenhouse is the best way to go.

Comment by John McKee on January 4, 2012 at 4:39pm We had trouble too. We planted eggplant seedling and then the dog chewed up what didn't dry up from the extreme heat! ....Maybe this discussion is turning into a gardening support group! John
Comment by Tammy Routley OV Guardian ♥ on January 4, 2012 at 10:23am Dave, lol, my carrots grew from June till october, the biggest was 2 inches haha, but they were still tasty! They got washed out by our rain gutter overflowing many times but still hung on, poor things :) No oxygen~ not enough sun...
Comment by Tammy Routley OV Guardian ♥ on January 4, 2012 at 8:45am Sarah, me too! I like to meditate and communicate with the energies of the plants. I hope to have a better potted garden this year!
Comment by Tammy Routley OV Guardian ♥ on January 4, 2012 at 8:42am Have a look at Moon Cycle Gardening, posted above, the video is from the Old Farmer's Almanac, short but to the point, there is a website on the discussion too.
Namaste!
