As I have been trained in healing through the use of the Young Living Oils, the information and recommendations found here are only applicable to their use. I have no knowledge of the purity of any of the other oils nor can I make any judgements regarding other oils. I personally recommend these oils because of the independent laboratory testing and research that has shown them to meet and often exceed the industry requirements.
These oils are found to meet specific criteria in four key areas: Plant, Preparation, Purity, and Potency.
Please understand that these specific oils are my personal choice and I am in no way devaluing the oils of anyone else's personal preference.
Our creator gave us these plants for healing, and these pure essential oils that were given to us, are a key solution to the challenges facing our modern lifestyle.
These Therapeutic Grade oils can be found in the following countries:
Japan - Japanese
Canada - English
Mexico - Spanish
Europe (UK) - English
Australia - English
United States - English
Europe - German
United States - Spanish

Comment by LavenderRose on February 23, 2013 at 6:56pm Many seeds, shrubs, and other plants that possess an impressive array of therapeutic compounds. These compounds work in multiple ways to relieve pain, clear out nasal and respiratory passages, calm the mind and senses, and boost energy levels, http://www.med.nyu.edu/content?ChunkIID=37427among other benefits. And one of the primary reasons why they work so well is that they contain multiple trillions of tiny molecules that easily enter the body and nourish cells.
"There are approximately 40 million trillion molecules in one drop of essential oil (that's approximately 40,000 molecules for each cell in the average human body)," explains an article on essential oils published in the International Wellness Directory. "They are so small that they enter your body through the skin and go everywhere in your body," it adds; noting that many other therapeutic compounds found in nature have much larger molecules that are not as efficient or effective at entering cells.
What this means aromatically is that essential oils have an incredible ability to enter the body through the lungs and disperse throughout the body in a way that most other medicines are unable to achieve. The neuroscience behind how this works is somewhat complex and still under investigation, but many years' worth of trials and clinical use have shown that aromatic intake of essential oils can help improve mood, eliminate stress, increase energy levels, boost immunity, and relieve pain.
As long as you obtain certified, pure, therapeutic grade or therapeutic grade varieties -- these typically cost more than essential oils that have been cut or otherwise adulterated with cheaper oils and fillers -- essential oils can be safely used aromatically for these and many other purposes. The scent of lavender oil, for instance, is known to help relax the body and mind, while peppermint can help improve mental clarity, reduce fatigue, and increase energy levels.

Comment by LavenderRose on February 21, 2013 at 10:11am 1. Lavender. Lavender oil has this yummy, fresh floral scent with a dash of sweetness and herby aroma. I find it completely intoxicating. On top of it smelling amazing, it is also the most versatile of all essential oils. Therapeutically, lavender oil has a calming effect which does wonders for those suffering from anxiety. Medicinally, it can be used as an antiseptic and pain reliever to soothe minor burns, insect bites and stings, and muscle or joint pain. This is also a great scent to use for savasana during yoga practice; one breath and you’ll feel blissful.
2. Peppermint. Peppermint oil has a very stimulating yet soothing aroma and is what I like to call “mother nature’s Icy Hot” due to its main constituent, menthol. This stuff is amazing. Not only is it effective in arousing your mental sharpness but it can be used to relieve congestion, headaches, migraines, digestive problems, and soothe achy muscles. I typically use it to get rid of headaches by rubbing a tiny bit on my temples or to relieve muscle soreness by diluting it with a carrier oil, like grape seed oil, and rubbing it into whatever is sore.
3. Eucalyptus. This oil has a very fresh and clean aroma that is sure to open your airways up. Eucalyptus oil is anti-everything, and for once that’s a good thing. It is a natural antibacterial, antifungal, antimicrobial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory. It is best used for respiratory problems like colds, coughs, asthma, and congestion in addition to wounds, muscle pain, mental exhaustion, dental care, and skin care. I love to drop a little of this in a hot bath when I am feeling congested; it’s a great natural way to clear my nasal passages up.
4. Lemon. With its uplifting and fresh scent, lemon oil can help get rid of bad vibes and increase concentration and mental awareness. It is also an antiseptic and antifungal making it a wonderful fix for scrapes, cuts, and other open wounds. Feeling less than inspired to get your flow on? Rub a few drops on your chest and throat while you set your intention and you’ll be flowin’ in no time!
5. Tea Tree. A widely popular form of alternative medicine, tea tree oil is awesome! Not only is tea tree oil’s astringent properties great for alleviating oily secretions of the skin – think oily face & scalp issues – but it’s terpinen content soothes minor wounds without irritation. I love to add a few drops to my shampoo prior to washing; it leaves my scalp squeaky clean.
Make sure that when you are purchasing or using essential oils that they are 100% pure, therapeutic grade. You should also dilute essential oils. You can dilute essential oils with carrier oils or water depending on what you are going to use the essential oil for. As with all things – if you have any health concerns, consult with your personal physician

Comment by Pamela Heyen on March 13, 2012 at 7:42am Hi Anna, welcome to the essential oils group. To answer your question, first it depends on what grade of oil they are using. Is it therapeutic, pure, organic or has it been adulterated with chemicals to extend it are reasons why it may not be useful. Another reason it that we are all individuals and every person's need is different. We are all unique in our challenges as well as what we need to correct those challenges. You are receptive to the benefits that ylang ylang provides to you, whereas another person may find that aroma too strong or offensive. What is wonderful about the oils is there are so many different oils that provide some of the same health benefits, so we are able to choose the one that resonates with each of us personally!
Comment by Anna Karina on March 12, 2012 at 3:55pm I use ylang ylang and carry a small spray bottle with me at all times. Nothing brings me a sense of relaxation, contentment and I wonder why different oils are more useful for some people and less useful for other.
