Solar flares erupting on the sun have created a massive solar storm that sent clouds of charged particles toward the earth and we will be feeling the effects for the next 24 to 48 hours. The news is awash with fearful  tales of it’s effects on telecommunications and electricity grids but you know…….. I say so what ! I remember as a child being subjected to regular power cuts which we all coped with and we all lived perfectly capable lives without mobile phones and the internet.
