I was in discussions earlier this morning with a group about the devistation of flooding in the Southern United States. The mind set was typical, "Why can't the Corp of Engineers or some government entity keep this from happenning?".

It strikes me that you never rarely see anyone with worldly power wielding it for the genuine good of others, rather than mixing in their own selfish agendas.

Is this because there are so few self sacrificing people remaining among us, or that the power is so corrupting, so venomous that there is only a fraction of people that can resist it?

I have a very dear friend, a friend all my life, whose mother's body is dying from Cancer. As we've spent the past days sitting with her and with him, I see the pain he feels in her suffering.



So, last night during prayer and meditation I asked God to comfort them, her and him, and if it be His will, let her know the comfort of His presence that will soon surround her.

I know we are capable of great things. I believe there are two keys from scripture:
