I was in discussions earlier this morning with a group about the devistation of flooding in the Southern United States. The mind set was typical, "Why can't the Corp of Engineers or some government entity keep this from happenning?".
Our earth was created in a self sustaining way. A very Yin-Yang situation, if you will. Floods come to deposite fertile silt and deposits upon land that then is used to raise crops. It's a natural cycle. But, when man goes in to control the rivers, sooner or later devistation is unleashed.
I use that digression to give you this link:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100517/ap_on_bi_ge/us_children_pesticides
In a new Associated Press report, studies have shown elevated levels of pesticides (I say elevated, as it indicates WE ALL have some level of pesticides in our systems) have a very persuasive link to many health problems in children, including the attention deficit disorders.
Please read the article and draw your own conclusions.
My point is, we as humans work so hard to control the world around us that we seem to not think very far ahead as to the implications of the actions we take. At some point, statistically, we'd be naive to think that our attempts at these controls will lead to our demise. Just something to think about.
Blessings
