Candlenut trees are found in Asia, Indonesia, the Caribbean, and even Hawaii.
Candlenuts are high in oil and when cooked and ground into a paste can be eaten... and it makes a good laxative.
Candlenut leaves are used to treat arthritis, fevers, and headaches.
Candlenut lowers cholesterol, helps with weight loss, and it’s also a good antibacterial agent.
Candlenut flowers are used to treat oral candidiasis... and in Japan the bark of the tree has been used to treat all kinds of tumors.
Ground Candlenut seeds are used to heal skin wounds and ulcers.
Candlenut oil can be used in shampoos for great looking hair and also in cosmetics.
In Hawaii they cook the seeds, grind them, add salt, seaweed, and red pepper and make a condiment called “Inamona”.
In Java the bark of the tree is used for the treatment of dysentery.
And cooked Candlenuts may boost the immune system and prevent disease.
