The Relaxed Soul on What is Spirituality and Religion

Spirituality is the understanding that everything is one, that everything is connected, and that everything springs forth from nature... and that we are all interconnected within the realm of being and nature.

Spirituality comes from within... without the need for church or written texts... it’s the ultimate truth that we know deep down inside. But now there are some new spiritual churches with open minds passing on this new understanding.

Religion began as spirituality and in some religions still have an essence of Spirituality.

But Religion became a way of teaching written understandings of the great teachers instead of the universal peace that they wanted to confer upon everyone… thus the teachings became rigid losing the essence of the Teachers.

And Religion grew… got out of hand... and at one time or another started to forget its roots in Spirituality.

Religion in it self is not bad or good... it's just that some Religions have forgotten why they came into existence in the first place. As Dr. David Hawkins noticed in his book Power vs. Force, many of the great dogmas of the world are not what was originally handed down… and thus have lost much of their true meaning and truth.

The great Teachers did not come to create Religion, they came to teach... peace, love, caring, understanding, compassion, oneness of everything, and great truth.
