Have to correct you as I live in Wales and Dewi is often used for David. St. David in Welsh is Dewi Sant. By the way England is not Wales. Wales is in the United Kingdom, the same as England, Scotland and parts of Ireland. Like England, Wales is a country in it's own right and has one of the oldest continuous languages in the World. You are right though that Dafydd is also David.
Dewi also a name in it's own right and it has Welsh origins as you see. Great to have you here with your fine Welsh name :-) Blessings
