I realise that they are saying these things are 'floating' but when I saw them, I thought they looked liked barnacles clinging to the rocks. Amazing, thanks for posting Christopher.

These are space critters and they were first shown in the tether movie. They are alive and this brings me to conclude that space may be filled with some type of ambient fluid like blood. The tethers length showed these critters to be up three miles in dynamiter. This also go along with what the ancients say about us being inside the god head of a larger living entity. I wonder what universal protection mechanisms there are in place on the earth to protect it against an infestations that causes it damage? Maybe these are like white blood cells?
